Work Environment

This full-time position operates within a supportive remote work environment under the framework of a community health clinic model. By utilizing telehealth platforms and communication tools, counselors engage with clients through virtual sessions, ensuring accessibility and continuity of care. Our clinical team operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, promoting work-life balance and a culture of support among team members.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Providing individual and group counseling that is tailored to meet the specific needs of patients, ensuring emotional safety and a supportive environment.
• Conducting thorough assessments of emotional and behavioral issues, employing recognized methodologies to determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Engaging in crisis intervention when necessary, responding promptly to patients in distress and ensuring their safety.
• Maintaining professional communication with physicians and other healthcare team members to report on patient progress, needs, and any emerging issues, thereby fostering a collaborative treatment approach.
• Documenting clinical and progress notes accurately and promptly in accordance with departmental policies, allowing for effective continuity of care.
• Participating in the development and evaluation of treatment and discharge plans, incorporating psychosocial assessments alongside established social work interventions.
• Establishing relationships with community resource groups, facilitating access to additional supportive services for patients, and representing Shirley Mental Health Services at important meetings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve at Shirley Mental Health Services come from diverse backgrounds, facing a range of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your role will focus on not only individual support but also empowering clients to engage with their community and resources that promote holistic wellness. You will play a critical role in helping clients navigate their recovery journeys, fostering resilience and personal growth.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position must possess:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• An active independent license: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• At least two years of professional experience providing mental health counseling, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirements ensure a solid foundation in counseling practices, experience in outpatient settings, familiarity with telehealth technology, and knowledge of local community resources will be considered valuable assets. Compensation and Benefits
