Position Overview

Driscoll Psychological and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Silver Spring, Maryland. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work remotely as you provide critical mental health support to diverse populations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C and have a minimum of two years of experience in the mental health field.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including psychosocial evaluations and diagnostic interviews to understand each client's unique situation.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients, incorporating their specific needs, goals, and cultural considerations.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions across various settings, including individual, couple, family, and group therapy, utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Provide crisis intervention services, coordinating with other healthcare professionals to facilitate continuity of care for patients experiencing acute distress.
• Maintain precise and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and discharge summaries, adhering to clinic policies and state regulatory guidelines.
• Empower patients and their families through psychoeducation, equipping them with effective management strategies for their mental health conditions.
• Engage in ongoing collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care.
• Regularly assess treatment outcomes to gauge effectiveness and adjust plans as necessary for optimal patient care.
• Keep abreast of current research and emerging trends in mental health to enhance clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
