Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments with clients to evaluate their mental health status and identify key areas requiring intervention.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate established therapeutic approaches to address conditions such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and eating disorders.
• Facilitate regular therapy sessions, employing various modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness techniques, to promote client engagement and foster positive outcomes.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients, helping them develop coping strategies and tools necessary for overcoming personal challenges.
• Refer clients to other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists or community resources, when additional support is needed.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes using our electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Life Matters, you will work with a diverse client base, including adults facing a range of mental health challenges. Clients may present with issues such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, relationship conflicts, and substance misuse. You will be responsible for adapting your therapeutic techniques to fit the individual needs of each client, thus enhancing their experience and the effectiveness of their treatment.

Qualifications

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possession of a current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State.
• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience, demonstrating competence in managing a variety of mental health disorders.
• An in-depth understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities and the ability to implement culturally competent approaches in therapy.
• Proven crisis intervention skills, with an ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, essential for building rapport and establishing trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency using electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure accurate and efficient documentation of client interactions.
• A strong commitment to professional ethics, including confidentiality and maintaining boundaries in therapeutic relationships.
• A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to cooperate with interdisciplinary teams for integrated patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy sessions.
• Comfort working in a telehealth setting, adept at utilizing virtual platforms for counseling.

Compensation and Benefits
