Work Environment

This role is primarily conducted in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a structured schedule. Counselors are expected to work weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our outpatient office structure supports professionals in delivering telehealth services and face-to-face interactions as needed. Technology plays a significant role in our workflow, and successful candidates will utilize various teletherapy platforms and electronic health record systems to maintain efficient communication and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the mental health needs of clients, providing tailored treatment recommendations.
• Effectively manage crisis situations involving mental health issues, trauma responses, and cases of addiction, ensuring client safety and stabilization.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists and case managers, to create comprehensive care plans that address both mental and emotional wellness.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and organized records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, documenting progress notes and treatment plans for each client.
• Engage in regular supervision and consultation to enhance therapeutic skills and ensure adherence to best practices in the mental health field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Open Arms Counseling Solutions, you will work with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, and adults from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our patients often face complex challenges such as stress, family dynamics, trauma history, and co-occurring conditions. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to connect with individuals from different walks of life, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist in the state of California.
• A minimum of two years of experience providing counseling services in a setting that caters to a diverse clientele is essential.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an outpatient setting, preferably with a focus on teletherapy services.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care.
• Prior involvement in collaborative treatment planning with interdisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
