El Gloria Counseling Center is excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist specializing in trauma care. Work Environment

This role is designed for a remote work setting to provide flexibility for our staff and accommodate the varying needs of our clients. While you will primarily connect with patients virtually, you will also participate in team meetings and professional development sessions which may be held at our physical location in Jersey City. Your primary work hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility expected as dictated by patient schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to understand patients’ histories and determine suitable treatment approaches.
• Collaborate with our team to develop and implement tailored treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to deliver effective interventions.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma experiences, cultivate coping mechanisms, and foster resilience.
• Engage with multidisciplinary professionals, including psychiatrists, to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to patient care.
• Provide timely crisis intervention and support in response to trauma-related emergencies when necessary.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources to promote informed recovery.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in continuous professional development activities, including case consultations focused on trauma-informed care and staying abreast of the latest research in the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our focus at El Gloria Counseling Center is primarily on individuals who have experienced trauma, including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. By concentrating on trauma recovery, our therapy sessions are tailored to address the unique emotional, psychological, and social impacts faced by our clients, while fostering an environment where they can express themselves openly and find healing.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in New Jersey.
• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed treatment approaches and related disorders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on establishing trust and rapport with patients.
• Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations, ensuring patients receive the support they need.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, specifically working with trauma-related cases.
• Hands-on experience applying trauma-focused therapies and interventions directly with patients.
• A collaborative spirit and willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health care team.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers competitive annual compensation ranging from USD 90,000 to 110,000, commensurate with experience. In addition, our benefits package includes:
