Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to accurately evaluate each patient's trauma history and needs.
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and coping strategies.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide clients through healing processes.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to help patients process their trauma and foster emotional growth and healing.
• Work in close collaboration with psychiatrists and other professionals, ensuring integrated and holistic care for each patient.
• Manage crisis interventions and provide immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, remaining calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources.
• Ensure all clinical documentation is maintained accurately and confidentially, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to inform practice and enhance patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Atlas Psychological and Counseling Center, you will primarily work with patients who have experienced various forms of trauma. This includes those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, requiring a nuanced approach to treatment that respects each individual’s unique journey. Your compassionate care will empower clients to confront and overcome their pasts, leading to improved mental health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW within the state of Arizona.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, ideally focused on trauma-informed care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Proficiency in delivering various trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship.
• Strong ability to remain composed in challenging situations, providing effective crisis intervention as needed.
• Competence in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms to manage patient information.
• A collaborative mindset, fully engaged in teamwork and integrated care processes.

Preferred Experience

• Direct experience with trauma-focused treatment methodologies, particularly in a remote or telehealth environment.
• Familiarity with working on interdisciplinary teams, ensuring comprehensive care for complex client needs.
• Involvement in continuing education or training specifically related to trauma-informed practices, enhancing the quality of therapeutic support provided.

Compensation and Benefits
