Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand each patient’s unique experiences, background, and needs.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the individualized needs of patients, taking into account their cultural and personal contexts.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing various mental health concerns and promoting resilience and well-being.
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals such as psychiatrists and psychologists to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
• Provide crisis intervention support during emergencies, managing high-stress situations with a calm and effective methodology.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources to empower them in their recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation that adheres to all legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Engage actively in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing cultural competency training sessions to enhance personal and professional growth.
• Stay updated on current research and best practices to incorporate the latest advancements in therapy techniques and cultural considerations into practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
• A strong foundation in mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and cultural competence in therapeutic practices.
• Experience in delivering individual and group therapy using culturally responsive approaches is highly desirable.
• Excellent crisis intervention skills, with the ability to maintain poise under pressure and high-stress situations.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, showcasing the ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
