Work Environment

This role is predominantly remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a strong connection with clients and team members. Our outpatient office setting is designed to ensure that our staff can collaborate effectively with various healthcare professionals, including midwives, doulas, and lactation consultants, ensuring integrated care for all clients. While most interactions occur virtually, team members are encouraged to participate in community engagement activities that align with our mission to promote holistic health.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with members of the prenatal care team, including medical providers and doulas, to ensure comprehensive, quality integrated care for clients.
• Co-facilitate childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups, working alongside skilled birth workers to reinforce community support.
• Engage in community outreach efforts aimed at building networks among birthing individuals and their families, enhancing access to resources and support.
• Participate actively in clinical consultations and multidisciplinary co-learning sessions to foster professional development and shared knowledge.
• Maintain thorough clinical documentation as required by regulations and best practices to support client care and organizational compliance.
• Provide direct behavioral health services, including assessments, counseling, and case management tailored to Black birthing families and their unique needs.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness and goal achievement of the counseling team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on Black birthing families, where you will provide culturally informed care that addresses the specific mental health needs and challenges faced by these individuals. This role emphasizes building trust and rapport, facilitating open communication, and understanding the unique contexts of each client’s experience.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in a behavioral science or related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) is required.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and communicate effectively with a diverse team and client base.
• A strong commitment to ethical practice and the ability to seek assistance when needed to ensure optimal client care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within community health settings, particularly with maternal and child health programs.
• Knowledge and experience in behavioral health assessments, group facilitation, and case management.
• Familiarity with the challenges faced by the Black community in accessing health care and social support services.

• This position offers an annual salary ranging from USD 120,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
