Key Responsibilities

• Conduct timely crisis assessments and interventions for individuals presenting with acute mental health challenges.
• Provide immediate counseling services to individuals seeking urgent support, ensuring confidentiality and safety at all times.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders to ensure the safety and well-being of clients during critical situations.
• Develop and implement personalized crisis intervention plans, following up with clients to ensure continuous support and appropriate recommendations.
• Employ effective de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention methodologies to diffuse tense situations and facilitate healing.
• Engage in continuous professional development through training and workshops to enhance your counseling skills and stay current with best practices in crisis management.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license is mandatory.
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in providing crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based practices, particularly related to crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients during challenging times.
• Knowledge of ethical and legal standards related to mental health practice.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with a variety of crisis intervention theories and practices, particularly those focusing on addiction treatment.
• Prior involvement in community outreach or engagement initiatives aimed at mental health awareness.
• Specialization in trauma-informed care or additional certifications in crisis counseling are advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
