Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist registered with the ARRT (or registry eligible) with experience in MRI scanning, contrast administration, and PACS image management for a 4x10 day shift schedule including weekends.

Details

• Inpatient hospital MRI department serving both adult and pediatric patients
• 4x10 hour day shifts: Thursday–Friday 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and Saturday–Sunday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• Weekends required; holidays not required
• No on-call required
• Uses PACS, IMPAX service tools, laser printers, gateways, and disc drives
• EMR system is Epic

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science
• Must be registered with the ARRT or be registry eligible; registry-eligible candidates must provide a copy of their diploma from an accredited program
• Advanced certification in MR required within one year of employment
• Current HCP BLS required
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include verifying patient identification, obtaining patient history, documenting pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age, and ensuring patient safety throughout the exam process
• Administers oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients per protocol, establishes IVs, determines contrast eligibility, and checks appropriate lab values prior to injection
• Interprets MRI protocols, selects appropriate scanning parameters, and troubleshoots equipment and protocol issues
• Transmits and verifies images to QC, Epic, and PACS using IMPAX service tools; manages, modifies, and cancels orders as appropriate
• Precepts new employees and students
• Produces quality diagnostic images and reviews patient charts and reports for clinical correlation
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and documents incidents as improvement opportunities
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
