Nurse Practitioner – Cardiovascular Medicine

An experienced Nurse Practitioner with expertise in cardiovascular medicine and imaging is needed to become an integral part of a dynamic cardiology team in Queens, NY. This role focuses on delivering high-quality care to cardiac patients, particularly in conducting, recording, and interpreting stress test results. You will work closely with cardiology physicians to enhance patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and document patient history relevant to their chief complaint or visit.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and document findings to assess patient health.
• Provide comprehensive care to adult patients with cardiovascular concerns or conditions.
• Supervise and administer cardiac diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, integrating results into patient care strategies.
• Diagnose cardiovascular conditions and develop tailored treatment plans while monitoring patient progress.
• Oversee treatment for heart disease and support chronic illness management through preventative care.
• Educate patients and their families on cardiovascular health, prevention, and long-term care.
• Prescribe medications in compliance with New York State and federal guidelines.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive patient care and follow-up.
• Engage in ongoing education and training to stay informed on advancements in cardiovascular care.
• Fulfill other responsibilities as necessary to support team and patient goals.

Salary is $150,000-$160,000 per year

Qualifications:

• Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department.

• Seeking a minimum of 1 - 2 years’ experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner treating cardiovascular medical conditions.

• Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body – American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

• Must possess current, unencumbered New York State Nursing (RN) license.
• Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written.
• Comfortable with the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
