Vista Medical Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our dynamic team in Alexandria, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments for children, ensuring to address their health maintenance and promotional needs.
• Diagnose and manage common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions, using evidence-based practices to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Perform various therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, wound care, and suture removals, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for young patients.
• Educate patients and families about health maintenance, growth and development, and disease prevention strategies to empower them in their child’s healthcare journey.
• Document patient progress meticulously in electronic health records (EHR) to maintain accurate medical histories and facilitate continuity of care.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare workers to implement patient management plans and participate in regular quality improvement initiatives.
• Review medical charts for patient follow-ups to ensure all necessary actions and referrals are carried out effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role is specifically focused on providing care to a diverse population of pediatric patients, from newborns to young adults. Our clinic serves families from various backgrounds, ensuring an inclusive approach to healthcare that recognizes the unique physical, psychological, and social needs of each child. Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
• Current Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of Virginia.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program that meets state educational standards.
• Current certifications from recognized boards such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (if applicable for inpatient settings).
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant pediatric healthcare experience is strongly preferred, providing a solid foundation in the clinical and operational aspects of pediatric primary care.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems to document patient interactions and improve care coordination.
• Experience working in home care settings or familiarity with home health services could be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $126,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
