Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough women's health assessments that include detailed medical history reviews, comprehensive physical examinations, and necessary screenings, ensuring each patient receives thorough evaluations to inform clinical decisions.
• Diagnose and manage common women's health issues, including reproductive health concerns, gynecological infections, menstrual irregularities, and symptoms associated with menopause.
• Provide essential family planning services, offering contraceptive counseling, prescribing appropriate methods, and educating patients on reproductive health options and implications.
• Perform routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears and breast examinations, integrating best practices to enhance early detection of health concerns.
• Oversee prenatal care for expectant mothers by conducting regular prenatal visits, monitoring fetal development, and educating families on pregnancy and childbirth processes.
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians and other health professionals to ensure a continuum of care for pregnant patients, facilitating a multidisciplinary approach to health management.
• Deliver valuable counseling and educational sessions on sexual and reproductive health, which encompass STD prevention, fertility awareness, and preconception preparations.
• Order diagnostic tests, like ultrasounds and lab work, and interpret results to formulate tailored treatment plans supported by evidence-based practices.
• Prescribe medications as required and offer follow-up care to monitor efficacy and manage any side effects experienced by patients.
• Educate patients on women's health topics, preventative measures, and self-care practices to empower them in managing their health.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans within our electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance and quality assurance.
• Participate in our clinic's quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, further solidifying our commitment to excellence in women's health services.
• Commit to ongoing education and professional development to keep abreast of advancements in women's health to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care available.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will serve a diverse population of women at varying life stages, from adolescent care through menopause and beyond. You will engage with patients seeking preventative care, women experiencing complex health issues, and those navigating their reproductive health journey.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Women's Health Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Texas.
• Board certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner is mandatory.
• A minimum of one year of demonstrable clinical experience in women's health, preferably in a primary care or OB/GYN environment.
• Robust knowledge of women's health topics including gynecology, reproductive health, prenatal care, and menopausal care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with patients and colleagues.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic health records and familiar with relevant healthcare technology that supports patient care and documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a women's health clinic or hospital setting, with knowledge of community health issues affecting women.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 to $220,000 annually, determined by experience and qualifications.
