Work Environment

You will work onsite in a school setting, providing healthcare to students in an engaging and vibrant atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical assessments and treatments for students of varying ages, ensuring high-quality care tailored to their unique needs.
• Conduct preventive care and administer vaccinations, emphasizing health education to encourage healthy lifestyles among students.
• Prescribe medications, order and interpret lab tests, and perform physical examinations, ensuring thorough follow-up care as necessary.
• Facilitate STD screenings, vision and hearing assessments, family planning services, and nutrition counseling, addressing holistic health concerns.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, promoting the integrity of patient data.
• Work collaboratively under the supervision of a Physician, engaging in regular consultations and case reviews to enhance treatment strategies.
• Remain adaptable and available for evening and weekend assignments as needed, accommodating the schedules of students and their families.
• If hired as a floater, travel between various Skill Stride Nurse locations may be required to meet patient needs.

This position serves a wide-ranging pediatric population, including infants, children, and adolescents. You will work with diverse backgrounds and communities, necessitating an understanding and sensitivity to varying cultural, socioeconomic, and health-related issues faced by families. Your role will directly impact student attendance and academic performance by addressing their health concerns promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required, with a Master's degree preferred for this role.
• A Nationally Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) License and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are mandatory.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred to effectively communicate with a broader patient demographic.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with medical terminology, enhancing administrative efficiency.
• Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management Systems (PMS) is desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of current principles and methods in pediatric healthcare delivery.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of recent relevant experience in pediatric care is essential.
• Previous experience in a school healthcare setting or community health practice is highly valued.
