Work Environment

This position is onsite at a local school in South Bend, Washington, where you will work closely with educators, school nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure that students receive optimal healthcare. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients, which include thorough physical examinations, detailed medical histories, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests.
• Formulate precise diagnoses based on assessment findings, ensuring collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members to devise individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies in alignment with clinical guidelines and in consultation with supervising pediatricians.
• Monitor patients' progress regularly and adjust treatment plans based on clinical outcomes and patient feedback, ensuring they receive the most effective care.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding preventive healthcare, disease management strategies, and healthy lifestyle choices to empower informed decision-making.
• Engage in coordination and collaboration with other healthcare professionals, ensuring a seamless flow of information and comprehensive care for our pediatric patients.
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems, detailing patient interactions, diagnoses, interventions, and progress notes.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in pediatric healthcare and participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
• Uphold ethical standards in practice, ensuring patient confidentiality and informed consent at all stages of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be providing care to a diverse population of pediatric patients within the school environment, ranging from early childhood through adolescence. Your role will include addressing both acute health issues and chronic conditions, emphasizing preventive measures and early intervention strategies. You will work collaboratively with families to assess the unique needs of each child, ensuring that all aspects of their health—physical, mental, and emotional—are addressed.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or a comparable advanced practice nursing education.
• Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Pediatric Physician Assistant (PA-C) is mandatory.
• Active state licensure, allowing for practice as an advanced practice provider in pediatrics.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in pediatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, underpinned by strong foundational knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential for effective collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work autonomously, making informed clinical decisions confidently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and healthcare software.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience as a Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider is preferred.
• Familiarity with evidence-based clinical guidelines and standards of care in pediatric healthcare.
• Knowledge of pediatric subspecialties and the specific healthcare needs they address.
• Bilingual proficiency in languages commonly spoken by our diverse patient population to facilitate communication among all stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, from USD 131,000 to USD 150,000 per year, reflecting the importance of the role and the qualifications required.
