Work Environment

This position is based onsite at an assisted living facility, a setting that allows for comprehensive care and specialized attention to residents who may have unique dermatological needs. The environment fosters collaboration among interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring that all aspects of patient care are addressed effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out detailed patient assessments by obtaining comprehensive medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and reviewing symptoms accurately.
• Diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic dermatological diseases, including but not limited to eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancers.
• Ordering, interpreting, and discussing diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging studies to provide tailored treatment plans.
• Prescribing medications and other treatment modalities, ensuring that prescriptions are aligned with the latest clinical guidelines and individual patient needs.
• Providing thorough education and counseling to patients regarding preventive strategies, skin care routines, health promotion, and disease management.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate seamless transitions of care.
• Meticulously documenting all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and follow-up plans in our electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse population within the assisted living facility, addressing a range of dermatological issues that are commonly present in older adults, such as skin concerns associated with aging, chronic conditions, and decreased mobility. Your expertise will help enhance the quality of life for residents and ensure their dermatological needs are effectively managed.

Qualifications

• A valid Nurse Practitioner license, with the ability to practice in New Jersey.
• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of substantial clinical experience, particularly in Medical Dermatology, demonstrating a robust understanding of skin conditions and treatment modalities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective patient relationships and collaboration within a team.
• Proficiency in EMR systems for effective documentation and patient data management.

Preferred Experience

• Advanced certifications or training in dermatology, such as membership in dermatological professional organizations.
• Experience working in assisted living or similar healthcare settings that cater to geriatric populations.

Compensation and Benefits
