Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our outpatient office in Springfield, offering a collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork among healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities

• Take comprehensive patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations, focusing on the unique aspects of women's health.
• Initiate and document patient care plans, efficiently communicating with both patients and multidisciplinary team members throughout the process.
• Conduct daily patient rounds to monitor progress, address any concerns, and adapt treatment protocols as necessary.
• Write and manage orders for medications, laboratories, and diagnostic tests, ensuring rigorous adherence to protocols.
• Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests results, utilizing them to guide treatment decisions and patient education.
• Engage in collaborative discussions with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to foster an integrated approach to patient care.
• Complete discharge summaries and provide clear post-discharge care instructions to ensure continuity in care.
• Stay current with the latest clinical practices and participate in continuous quality improvement efforts within our practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on women’s health, addressing a wide range of issues from adolescence through menopause. You will be providing care to diverse populations, recognizing and respecting cultural differences, while being particularly attuned to the physical, emotional, and social factors that impact women’s health. You’ll play a vital role in managing reproductive health, chronic conditions, preventive screenings, and health education, impacting the lives of women and their families in our community.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active National Board Certification specifically in women’s health or a related specialty area.
• Valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner and a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
• Demonstrated evidence of collaborative practice agreements and familiarity with current healthcare regulations.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in women’s health or reproductive health contexts.
• Previous experience in outpatient settings, particularly within specialty care.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems to facilitate efficiency in documentation and patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
