Work Environment

Your work setting will be within a school, providing you with direct interaction with students, teachers, and parents. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations of students, diagnosing acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Develop individualized care plans based on the assessments, collaborating with school staff and parents to ensure the best health outcomes for students.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as necessary, prescribing medications and therapies while adhering to state regulations.
• Provide education to students and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and medication management tailored to school settings.
• Engage in health outreach programs, delivering presentations on various health topics relevant to student populations.
• Maintain meticulous electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and accurate documentation of student health histories.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including school counselors, principals, and other healthcare providers to facilitate comprehensive care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at elevating health service standards in the school.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be students enrolled in the school system, ranging from elementary to high school ages. You will address a diverse array of health issues, from common colds and injuries to chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes. Your ability to educate and empower students regarding their health will be paramount to their overall academic and personal success.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Active nursing license in the state of Arizona.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing; a Master's degree is preferred but not required.
• A minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with a preference for experience in a school or pediatric environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and educational staff.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills tailored to the school health context.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of four years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required, experience specifically in a school setting or with pediatric populations will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with school health regulations and the ability to navigate educational environments will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 – 220,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
