Cardiology Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Care

Position Overview

Mountain Top Cardiology Consultants is actively seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic outpatient practice at the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC) located in Rochester, New York. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive environment, where you will provide comprehensive care to patients with various cardiovascular conditions. The Nurse Practitioner will operate under the management of the Chief Nurse Practitioner and the direction of the Medical Director within the Division of Cardiology, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.

Work Environment

You will be working onsite in our outpatient facility within a school setting, providing a unique opportunity to engage with patients in a familiar environment. With a Monday to Friday work schedule (8 AM to 5 PM), this role is structured to ensure a work-life balance, with no calls, nights, or weekends required. The environment is collegial and nurturing, promoting collaboration among staff and a focus on quality care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner in our cardiology division, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with our team of cardiologists to provide high-quality care to patients.
• Conducting thorough patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing physical exams.
• Managing chronic conditions such as Hypertension and High Cholesterol with appropriate treatment plans.
• Executing outpatient-only Electrophysiology services for patients exhibiting abnormal electrocardiograms, assessing and managing arrhythmias, and overseeing patients with implanted cardiac devices.
• Providing care for acute conditions such as Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, Valvular Heart Disease, and Stroke/Transient Ischemic Attack.
• Conducting stress testing and other diagnostic procedures as necessary.
• Prescribing medications, managing medication therapy, and referring patients to specialized services within the cardiology group when required.
• Educating patients and their families on managing their conditions and living heart-healthy lifestyles.
• Engaging in ongoing consultation and supervision with on-site cardiologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• A current, valid Nurse Practitioner license in New York State.
• Completion of appropriate certification exams related to the Nurse Practitioner role.
• A strong foundational knowledge in outpatient cardiology practices.

Preferred Experience

While we welcome applicants at all experience levels, candidates with the following experiences will be prioritized:

• Previous clinical experience in cardiology or related outpatient settings.
• Familiarity with key cardiology tools and technologies used in patient diagnosis and management.
• An understanding of chronic disease management and evidence-based practices within cardiology.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from USD 120,000 to 160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:
