Position Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our vibrant team at Gutierrez Oncology & Internal Medicine Center in Ossining, New York. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing cardiovascular care through our Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC), working under the supervision of the Chief Nurse Practitioner and in collaboration with the Medical Director and a multidisciplinary team.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in our modern healthcare facility, which provides outpatient services including cardiology consultations, diagnostic testing, and ongoing patient education. Employees enjoy a structured schedule of Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with no night shifts, weekends, or on-call responsibilities, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as EKGs and echocardiograms.
• Manage chronic conditions including hypertension and hyperlipidemia, ensuring adherence to treatment plans and making necessary adjustments.
• Perform outpatient electrophysiology services for patients with abnormal heart rhythms, including monitoring and caring for device patients.
• Handle acute cardiology cases such as coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and transient ischemic attacks, providing timely interventions.
• Facilitate stress testing as prescribed to assess cardiac function and patient readiness for further cardiology interventions.
• Educate patients and their families on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence to promote better health outcomes.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
• Actively participate in team meetings and case reviews to continuously improve care processes and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Nurse Practitioner within our division of cardiology, you will primarily serve adult patients experiencing a wide range of cardiac conditions, from preventive care to complex management of chronic diseases. Our diverse patient population requires a tailored approach that integrates medical treatment with compassionate care, cultural competency, and patient education to enhance compliance and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Completion of a master's or doctoral degree in Nursing as an advanced practice nurse.
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with certification in your specialty area.
• A current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the State of New York.
• Proficient clinical skills with the ability to perform necessary procedures within your scope of practice.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in cardiology, whether in an inpatient or outpatient setting, is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome applications from both seasoned professionals and recent graduates.

Compensation and Benefits
