Job Description
Hiring: Occupational Therapist – Outpatient Clinic in Buffalo, New York
We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide evidence-based therapy in an orthopedic outpatient setting. This role focuses on helping individuals regain independence in daily living and work by evaluating their needs, developing treatment plans, and teaching them skills and strategies to overcome challenges related to physical, mental, or cognitive impairments
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
Compensation: $110,000 - $125,000 per year + benefits (Full-Time)
What You’ll Do:
- Occupational therapists evaluate a client's abilities, challenges, and needs to determine the best course of treatment.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address specific goals and challenges, often using everyday activities (occupations) to promote healing and functional independence.
- Implement treatment plans, which may include teaching specific skills, providing adaptive equipment, or modifying environments to facilitate participation in daily activities.
- Educate clients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and how to manage their challenges effectively.
- Advocate for their client's needs, ensuring access to necessary resources and support.
- Maintain accurate records of client assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and physical therapists.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Master's degree in occupational therapy (OT)
- Pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam
- Valid license to practice in the state of NY
- Strong communication skills in interacting with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Problem-Solving Skills
- 2+ years of experience in orthopedic or outpatient settings (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of upper extremity rehabilitation, post-surgical care, and splinting
