Position Overview

Precision Healing Center in Hyattsville, Maryland, is actively seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. In this full-time, onsite role, the OT will evaluate, treat, and support patients with a range of physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges, enabling them to regain independence in their daily lives. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ cognitive, perceptual, and physical abilities, while assessing their home and work environments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams—including physical therapists, speech therapists, and physicians—to develop personalized occupational therapy treatment plans.
• Implement therapy interventions and monitor progress, providing regular updates to patients and their families, as well as maintaining accurate documentation in the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Oversee the delivery of therapy programs executed by aides and assistants, ensuring the quality of care meets departmental standards.
• Engage with community organizations to facilitate patient access to external resources, including support groups, medical equipment, and follow-up care.
• Participate in program development within the therapy department by suggesting improvements based on best practices and evolving clinical standards.
• Foster a positive and educational environment by mentoring students and newer staff, enhancing overall team competency and service quality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Occupational Therapist will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or strokes, as well as those with chronic conditions affecting their daily living activities. This role is particularly focused on maximizing each patient's functional independence by tailoring therapy to their specific conditions and lifestyle needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Maryland.
• CPR certification, demonstrating competence in basic life support techniques.
• Strong foundational knowledge of occupational therapy principles, assessments, and interventions.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build rapport with both patients and colleagues.
• Organizational skills to manage a varied caseload efficiently.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is highly preferable.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of clinical experience in an occupational therapy role, ideally within a rehabilitation or acute care setting.
• History of involvement in program development or clinical education initiatives.
• A demonstrated interest in continuous education and professional development pertaining to the field of occupational therapy.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this full-time Occupational Therapist position is competitive, ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
