Work Environment

This role is onsite at our rehabilitation center in Hillsboro, Oregon, where you will enjoy a vibrant and dynamic workplace. The team environment promotes collaboration among occupational therapists, physical therapists, and medical professionals, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care. Your work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities and needs, creating a solid foundation for individualized treatment plans.
• Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment programs aimed at enhancing patients' daily living skills, self-care routines, and leisure activities.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions that target improvements in motor skills, cognitive functions, and independence through both therapeutic activities and adaptive equipment recommendations.
• Educate patients and families about adaptive strategies, home modifications, and therapeutic exercises to facilitate continued recovery outside the clinical setting.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists and physicians, to ensure that each patient receives well-rounded care tailored to their rehabilitation goals.
• Document patient progress meticulously in electronic health records, modifying treatment plans when necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by staying updated on the latest trends, techniques, and advancements in the field of occupational therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Tranquil Pines, our occupational therapists work primarily with older adults and individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic illnesses. You will be instrumental in helping these patients navigate daily challenges, fostering their confidence, and empowering them to regain functional independence.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid Oregon OT license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
• Proven ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, clinical environment, adjusting to changing patient needs and priorities.
• A compassionate approach to patient care that emphasizes dignity and respect.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, ideally within orthopedic or outpatient settings. However, new graduates with relevant clinical experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience in using adaptive technologies or specialized therapeutic equipment in rehabilitation settings.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems for documenting patient care and treatments efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits
