Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $110,000 per year + benefits 

As an Optometrist at [Hospital Name], you will provide exceptional eye care, including comprehensive eye exams, diagnosis, and management of a wide variety of visual conditions. Your primary responsibilities will involve performing thorough eye exams, diagnosing eye diseases and conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and advising patients on preventive care and treatment options. You will also collaborate with ophthalmologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

Job Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive eye exams and medical optometry services to patients of all ages
  • Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and infections
  • Co-manage post-operative care with ophthalmologists for surgical patients (cataract, retinal, and corneal procedures)
  • Collaborate closely with internal medicine, neurology, endocrinology, and other specialties within the hospital system
  • Support inpatient consultations and participate in clinical case discussions
  • Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic and imaging equipment in a modern clinic setting

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
  • Current Optometrist licensure in the state of Arizona
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Optometrist is preferred, though new graduates with relevant clinical experience will be considered
  • Clinical Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and manage eye diseases, and prescribe corrective lenses
  • Familiarity with the latest optometry technologies, including retinal imaging, visual field testing, and tonometry
  • Strong understanding of ocular pharmacology and the ability to manage eye diseases and conditions
  • BLS/CPR certification required
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and compassionately to patients
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and patient care
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
