Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive eye examinations, performing vision tests, assessing visual acuity, and evaluating ocular health to establish accurate diagnoses.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of eye conditions and diseases, prescribing appropriate treatments including eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as medications when necessary.
• Specialize in areas such as pediatric and geriatric optometry, ensuring customized care that meets the unique needs of each demographic.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including visual field tests, retinal imaging, and corneal topography, to enhance the precision of your assessments.
• Collaborate effectively with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, providing referrals as needed for specialized treatments.
• Educate patients about various eye care practices, including the importance of contact lens hygiene, strategies to prevent digital eye strain, and overall ocular health tips.
• Fit and adjust eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction with their vision correction solutions.
• Keep abreast of the latest advancements in optometry, integrating new treatment modalities and diagnostic technologies into your practice.
• Maintain meticulous and accurate patient records, documenting all examinations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and patient interactions.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care, addressing any concerns and ensuring patients fully understand their diagnoses and treatment options.
• Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in accordance with industry regulations and guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry program is essential.
• Possession of a valid state license to practice optometry in Maryland.
• Board certification or eligibility for board certification in optometry is preferred.
• A strong foundation in ocular anatomy, physiology, and prevalent eye diseases.
• Proficiency in performing comprehensive eye exams and interpreting sophisticated diagnostic tests with precision.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 150,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
