Job Title: Pharmacist – Hospital Setting (Georgia)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Job Type: Full Time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM
Compensation: $120,000.00 - $150,000 per year + benefits
As a Pharmacist in our hospital setting, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and effective dispensing and administration of medications to inpatients and outpatients. You'll play a vital role in collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize pharmacologic therapy, reduce medication errors, and enhance patient care.
Job Duties:
- Review, prepare, and dispense medications in accordance with hospital protocols, regulatory guidelines, and physician orders.
- Conduct clinical medication reviews and provide consultative services on appropriate drug selection, dosing, interactions, and side effects.
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication therapies in coordination with prescribers.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications in compliance with USP 797/800 standards.
- Oversee medication distribution systems, including automated dispensing cabinets and controlled substance inventory.
- Educate patients, families, and staff about proper medication use, storage, and side effects.
- Participate in clinical rounds and contribute to interdisciplinary care plans.
- Assist with formulary management and medication use evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state of Georgia.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other specialties preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital or clinical pharmacy experience preferred. PGY1 or PGY2 residency training is a plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
