Key Responsibilities

• Dispense and manage prescription medications, ensuring patients receive precise dosages along with clear usage instructions, enhancing the safety and efficacy of their treatment.
• Provide expert counsel to patients and healthcare providers on a broad spectrum of medication-related matters, including potential drug interactions, side effects, and management of drug allergies.
• Review and verify prescription orders for accuracy, ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. This includes checking for potential interactions or contraindications that may arise from a patient's health profile.
• Collaborate actively with healthcare teams to promote optimal therapeutic outcomes, facilitating discussions with physicians regarding medication therapies, particularly for complex cases.
• Oversee medication inventory management, ensuring the timely requisition of medications and supplies to maintain optimal pharmacy operations and availability of essential treatments.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, safeguarding the integrity and effectiveness of pharmacy operations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will serve a diverse patient population, including individuals with chronic illnesses, those undergoing complex medical treatments, and patients requiring acute medical care. Qualifications

• A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• An active pharmacy license within the state of Virginia.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build trust with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
