Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing drugs, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
Essential Functions
Accurately prepares & distributes all doses of medication (subject to verification of their complete and accurate preparation by a pharmacist prior to distribution), including parenteral doses (i.e., IV admixtures, chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition, etc)
Expediently delivers medications and related products & supplies to defined patient care areas/ancillary areas according to the established schedules and assures their appropriate storage (e.g., refrigerator, etc)
Actively assists in maintaining drug inventories both within the Department and at defined patient care areas (including code cart restocking, restocking of automated dispensing cabinets, checking for outdated inventory, packaging/repackaging & extemporaneous compounding, etc)
Accurately maintains required records, logs & other documents (e.g., medication charges/credits, delivery & re-stock records

Two years of experience in a hospital or health system required
One year prior pharmacy technician experience required
This Pharmacy Technician position offers $12 - $15 hourly in Florida. Compensation may vary based on experience, certifications, and facility type.
