Position Overview
Working in a team, the Compounding Technician will be responsible for mixing both simple liquid and powder blends as well as more complex processes, including vacuum drying, spray drying, and reactions, and ensuring that all orders are completed accurately.
This contract-to-hire role has a 6-month conversion period and will work at the client’s facility in Cerritos on the 3rd shift, Monday-Friday, 10pm-630am.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment to accurately utilize raw ingredient materials in a precise manner to create flavor products
- Ensure understanding of all safety, quality, and operational procedures relevant to the role
- Utilize tools and electronic/computer systems for compounding and container filling
- Utilize computer, scan gun, or other tools and processes to correctly match ingredients to shop orders
- Follow production, safety, quality, and operational procedures to verify and record information during the production process
- Ensure proper ventilation and use of safety equipment
- Develop understanding of Quality Control requirements for sampling, product testing, swabbing of equipment, etc., and follow policies surrounding Quality Control needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED highly preferred, AA or AS is a plus
- 1+ years of relevant work experience preferred
- Experience in the food industry and familiarity with industry-related quality systems and procedures is highly preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and adhere to policies and procedures
- Read, write, and perform basic mathematics, including metric in English
- Push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Willingness to learn
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful
- Able and willing to work a flexible fulltime+ schedule, including extended hours (OT), weekends, and holidays
- This position requires occasional use of a full-face respirator. Candidates must be able to pass related medical screening, fit testing and conform to required grooming standards
