Job Title: Phlebotomist – Hospital Setting (Baltimore, Maryland)
Job Type: Full Time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM
Compensation: $115,000.00 - $135,000 per year + benefits
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Phlebotomist to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing top-tier medical services.
As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing blood collection procedures for patients in a hospital setting. You will work closely with patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, accurate, and timely specimen collection and processing.=
Job Duties:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Accurately label and handle specimens to prevent errors and contamination.
- Provide excellent patient care, explaining procedures and alleviating any concerns patients may have.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all equipment is sterilized and functioning properly.
- Assist in the processing and transporting of specimens to the laboratory for testing.
- Record and document blood collection details, including patient information and test orders.
- Adhere to strict infection control practices and safety protocols to prevent contamination and exposure to hazardous materials.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other patient confidentiality regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Phlebotomy training program is preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification from an accredited organization (e.g., ASCP, NHA) preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital or clinical setting preferred; new graduates welcome to apply.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
