Job Type: Full Time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM
Compensation: $115,000.00 - $135,000 per year + benefits
Are you a skilled Phlebotomist with a passion for precision and patient care? We’re looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic healthcare team in New York. As a Phlebotomist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that accurate blood samples are collected, processed, and delivered for critical medical tests and diagnoses.
As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing blood draws, ensuring proper specimen collection, and providing excellent care for patients of all ages. You will work closely with our laboratory team to maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and patient care during every interaction.
Job Duties:
- Perform blood draws on patients in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of all specimens
- Provide patients with clear instructions and explain procedures to minimize anxiety
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control protocols
- Assist with specimen processing, including centrifugation and proper handling of blood samples
- Collaborate with lab technicians and healthcare professionals to ensure timely testing and accurate results
- Adhere to HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly stocked and in working order
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree in a related field is a plus)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification through a recognized body (e.g., NHA, ASCP, or equivalent)
- New York State Phlebotomist License or eligibility to obtain (if applicable)
- Prior experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital, medical office, or outpatient clinic preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
