Key Responsibilities

Your role as a Physical Therapist Assistant will encompass a variety of essential tasks aimed at supporting patient recovery and rehabilitation:

• Assist the supervising therapist in data collection for patient evaluations, performing specific tests and measurements to assess various physical capabilities.
• Implement therapy interventions as outlined in the patient's plan of care, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques, that have been delegated by the supervising therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy techniques based on individual responses and therapeutic goals.
• Communicate effectively with the supervising therapist regarding any changes in the patient's status, including physical or mental health developments, and tolerance to treatment.
• Coordinate treatment efforts with other clinical staff and community resources, ensuring an integrated approach to patient care.
• Participate in clinical meetings to enhance communication and coordination among team members, fostering a collaborative care environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and conditions. This includes individuals receiving post-operative care, those with sports-related injuries, or patients managing chronic pain issues. Understanding the unique needs and goals of each patient, you will provide compassionate support and encouragement, helping them progress through their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Physical Therapist Assistant position will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current Physical Therapy Assistant License issued in the state of Nevada.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• At least two years of experience working as a PTA, with demonstrated competency in physical therapy treatments, particularly in orthopedic settings.

Preferred Experience

While not essential, preference will be given to candidates who have experience dealing with a diverse patient demographic in a hospital or outpatient setting. Further specialization or continuing education in orthopedic therapy techniques will be beneficial.
