Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists based on specific patient needs and recovery goals.
• Consistently monitor and document the progress of patients, providing detailed updates and feedback to the supervising Physical Therapist regarding treatment efficacy.
• Teach and guide patients in the correct techniques for exercises and activities of daily living, ensuring proper posture and form to maximize rehabilitation outcomes.
• Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients during all therapy sessions, addressing any discomfort or concerns promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, engaging in regular communication to coordinate patient care plans and enhance treatment outcomes.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, hospital policies, and state licensing standards to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of patient information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will primarily work with adult and elderly patients throughout their rehabilitation process. This includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, sports injuries, and chronic illnesses. Being sensitive to the unique needs of each patient and fostering a supportive environment is essential for successful rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Florida or eligibility for licensure is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential for ensuring patient safety during therapy.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for working collaboratively with patients and team members.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, ideally in a hospital or acute care setting.

Compensation and Benefits
