Full-Time Outpatient Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Assistant

Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation clinic located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is a full-time onsite position where you will play a vital role in enhancing the rehabilitation experience for our patients. As a PTA, you will support our licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality care, implementing therapeutic programs aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.

Work Environment

Your new workplace is a hospital-based rehabilitation clinic in Fort Wayne, Indiana, characterized by a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. You will work closely with a dedicated healthcare team comprising Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, among others. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and tools, including ultrasound machines, electrical stimulation devices, and a wide variety of rehabilitation equipment. The working hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional flexibility needed to meet the demands of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and functionality.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring proper techniques are used to promote physical well-being and pain relief.
• Educate patients and their families on body mechanics, exercise protocols, and corresponding home exercise programs to facilitate continued recovery outside the clinic.
• Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation and heat/cold therapy, under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress, accurately tracking important metrics such as range of motion and strength improvements to provide feedback to the therapy team.
• Maintain a well-organized treatment area, ensuring that equipment and supplies are accessible for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure consistent and effective patient care, optimizing outcomes through an integrated approach.
• Provide emotional support, motivation, and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journeys.
• Adhere to ethical practices and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with professional standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will encounter patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, sports-related injuries, and post-surgical procedures requiring tailored therapeutic approaches. Qualifications

• An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions pertinent to physical therapy.
• Demonstrated proficiency in applying therapeutic techniques and modalities under strict supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to relate to patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits
