Work Environment

This position is offered onsite at our state-of-the-art facility located within a hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Our collaborative approach promotes an effective interdisciplinary environment where Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other healthcare professionals work together. You will typically work a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility based on patient needs and clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in the development and execution of individualized treatment plans crafted to improve patient mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and pain-relief activities with the goal of enhancing their physical well-being.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques while providing them with home exercise programs to support their recovery.
• Administer therapeutic modalities like electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of the overseeing Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including tracking improvements in range of motion and strength.
• Maintain organized treatment areas and ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available for efficient therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and ensure coordinated care.
• Provide emotional support to patients, fostering a motivating and encouraging rehabilitation environment.
• Comply with ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and rights are respected at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, including individuals recovering from various medical conditions such as orthopedic surgeries, neurological disorders, and sports injuries. You will be essential in adapting treatment protocols to cater to the specific needs of each patient, ensuring that their rehabilitation journey is both effective and personalized.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and various therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy.
• Capable of administering treatment modalities with proficiency and efficacy.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with patients and interact effectively with the clinical team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a hospital or clinical setting, particularly in rehabilitation services, is preferred.
• Prior exposure to programming for various rehabilitation categories (Orthopedic, Neurological, etc.) would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with therapeutic equipment and modalities commonly used in physical therapy.

Compensation and Benefits
