Key Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans devised by physical therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed strategies and protocols to foster optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
• Prepare therapy equipment for patient use, maintaining cleanliness and organization within treatment areas.
• Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, documenting changes, and providing timely feedback to physical therapists to adjust treatment as necessary.
• Facilitate patient intake processes, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records using EMR systems like WebPT.
• Assist in patient education by demonstrating exercises and explaining procedures, helping patients understand their roles in the rehabilitation process.
• Contribute to team meetings and discussions, actively participating in the continuous improvement of patient care practices and clinic operations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve working with patients dealing with orthopedic conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. You will play a crucial role in guiding these patients through their recovery journeys, providing them not just with physical support, but also with encouragement and motivation. Your interactions will help establish a therapeutic alliance, which is essential for achieving successful patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• A valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California is required.
• At least two years of clinical experience in an outpatient or similar setting, demonstrating proficiency in delivering therapeutic interventions.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, to streamline patient care and documentation processes.
• Hands-on experience with a variety of manual therapy techniques that enhance patient comfort and recovery.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
