Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Assistant – Full-Time Role in Seattle

Work Environment

As a PTA, you will work onsite at our hospital-based rehabilitation clinic located in Seattle's vibrant healthcare community. Our environment is collaborative, with a focus on teamwork. You will work alongside a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, all dedicated to optimizing patient outcomes. The typical work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and therapy goals.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and functional activities aimed at promoting physical recovery and alleviating pain.
• Educate patients on best practices concerning body mechanics and the execution of home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing progress in their rehabilitation.
• Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, following protocols established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including recording changes in range of motion, strength, and functional abilities, while providing feedback to the Physical Therapist.
• Prepare treatment areas and ensure that therapy equipment and supplies are well organized, sanitized, and ready for use at all times.
• Engage in effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient care and achieve optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
• Support patients emotionally throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a supportive and positive recovery environment.
• Maintain high ethical standards and protect patient confidentiality, demonstrating respect for individual rights and privacy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our hospital serves a diverse patient population including individuals recovering from surgeries, managing chronic conditions, and those rehabilitating from injuries across various age groups such as children, adults, and seniors. As a PTA, you will play a crucial role in customizing treatment approaches that address the specific challenges and goals of each patient.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A current and valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions relevant to the field of physical therapy.
• Demonstrated ability to competently execute therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building rapport with diverse patient populations.
