Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical capabilities and limitations through diagnostic assessments, analyzing muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, aligning with physician directives and your professional judgment, to prevent disability and facilitate healing.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in implementing prescribed therapy interventions, ensuring adherence to care plans while maintaining clinical best practices.
• Administer a range of therapeutic treatments, which may include manual exercises, traction, and therapeutic modalities, to improve muscle functionality and reduce pain.
• Perform functional assessments in patient homes and recommend modifications to promote safety and independence in daily living activities.
• Document patient progress through detailed clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to collaborate on comprehensive treatment strategies that cater to the holistic needs of each client.
• Continuously monitor client conditions, reporting any changes to the supervising physician and allowing for timely modifications to care plans as needed.
• Provide education and training to clients and families regarding physical therapy practices, device usage, and home injury prevention techniques.
• Act as a mentor and support system for Physical Therapy Assistants, guiding them on methodologies and new therapy approaches in line with agency standards.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid physical therapy licensure in the state of Maryland, in good standing.
• A minimum of one year of relevant experience, particularly in acute or home care settings, is preferred.
• Valid CPR certification, reflecting a commitment to patient safety.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance for patient home visits.
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, integrity, and quality care delivery.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
• Strong analytical skills for assessing and developing tailored care plans based on client evaluations.
• Ability to maintain focus, energy, and motivation in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits
