Upstream Musculoskeletal Therapy is seeking a dedicated and licensed Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our innovative team in Alexandria, Virginia. This position is onsite at our outpatient office in Alexandria, Virginia, where you will work in a modern, fully equipped facility designed to promote healing and rehabilitation. Conduct thorough evaluations of patient conditions to assess physical function and establish a baseline for treatment.
Develop comprehensive and personalized treatment plans incorporating various therapeutic modalities, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and use of advanced rehabilitation equipment.
Implement interventions designed to alleviate pain, restore mobility, and enhance patients' overall physical health.
Regularly monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans based on patient responses and advancements.
Provide education and training for patients and their families on self-care techniques and proper use of assistive devices to ensure safe and effective healing at home.
Engage in continuous learning by participating in workshops, reviewing literature, and networking with fellow professionals in the physical therapy community.
In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and seniors recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Your expertise will be pivotal in designing therapy sessions that address individual needs, promoting healing and functionality across various orthopedic categories, such as post-operative care, sports injuries, and rehabilitative therapies.
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate is preferred.
Current state licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for patient interaction and documentation.
Competency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and general office software for documentation and reporting.
Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate varying patient needs and treatment plans.
Prior clinical experience in an outpatient setting is beneficial, though new graduates with a solid understanding of physical therapy principles are encouraged to apply.
Experience using various rehabilitation equipment and modalities designed for orthopedic care.
Familiarity with developing educational resources for patients and their families is a plus.
