Work Environment

This role is performed onsite, primarily in the homes of our patients within the Arlington area. You will have the flexibility to create your own schedule, typically working Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, which allows for a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities, understanding their unique challenges and goals.
• Create and implement personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices, therapeutic exercises, and necessary modalities.
• Regularly monitor patient progress, documenting results meticulously and adjusting treatment strategies as needed to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to enhance the overall care provided to each patient.
• Provide education to patients and families about therapy techniques, home exercise programs, and proactive injury prevention strategies.
• Develop and implement fall prevention strategies, contributing to the safety and well-being of patients in an assisted living environment.
• Commit to ongoing professional development by participating in training sessions and staying informed about advancements in physical therapy.
• Uphold ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and delivering care that adheres to the highest quality benchmarks.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on our geriatric clients, many of whom have complex medical histories and require tailored care strategies to support their recovery and mobility. Understanding the unique needs of this population is crucial, as your role in enhancing their physical health directly influences their quality of life and ability to maintain independence in their daily activities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a higher qualification (Master's or Doctorate) from an accredited institution.
• Possession of active state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• A strong foundation in physical therapy principles with an emphasis on geriatric care preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in the use of electronic medical records (EMRs) to document patient care and treatment plans.
• Commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous learning to provide the best possible patient care.
• Strong capability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in geriatric therapy is preferred but not mandatory, as we welcome applications from recent graduates eager to make a difference in this field.
• A background in developing fall prevention and safety programs for elderly populations is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
