Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical abilities, limitations, and functional needs based on their orthopedic diagnoses.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that outline appropriate modalities, exercises, and therapeutic interventions to address each patient’s unique needs.
• Provide hands-on therapeutic services, including manual therapy techniques, modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation, and therapeutic exercises to enhance recovery.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, adhering to state and federal regulations, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
• Supervise and guide physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation technicians to optimize patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to create a supportive care environment.
• Engage in case management responsibilities that include discharge planning and building patient motivation for continued therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will work predominantly with patients recovering from surgical interventions and traumatic injuries, as well as those managing chronic conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. Our patient population ranges from adolescents to older adults, each requiring individualized care plans. You will play a crucial role in improving patients’ functional outcomes, helping them regain strength and mobility while enhancing their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of California.
• Active certification in CPR through the American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Strong competency in conducting physical assessments and utilizing therapeutic modalities and equipment safely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse patient populations and healthcare professionals effectively.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in employing evidence-based practice and staying updated with advancements in orthopedic rehabilitation techniques.
• Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) and documenting patient care in a timely manner.
