Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients, developing tailored treatment plans based on individual needs and medical histories.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic solutions to restore and enhance physical function, alleviate pain, and promote mobility.
• Regularly assess patient progress and adapt treatment plans accordingly, working hand-in-hand with physicians to ensure cohesive treatment strategies.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, discharge planning, and ongoing care plans to maintain progress post-treatment.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and nursing staff, to coordinate comprehensive care approaches.
• Document and maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Utilize effective communication strategies to explain therapeutic procedures, goals, and treatment plans to both pediatric patients and their families in an clear and compassionate manner.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will focus primarily on the pediatric population, addressing a range of conditions from developmental delays to post-surgical rehabilitation. You will be tasked with providing individualized care that addresses the unique challenges faced by children in their growth and development process. Your contributions will be vital in facilitating improved physical capabilities and enhancing the overall quality of life for your young patients.

Qualifications

• Current Florida Physical Therapy license is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; a Master’s or Doctorate degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work with pediatric patients and an understanding of developmental milestones.
• Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy and physiology as it relates to physical therapy.
• Proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques and an understanding of hospital medicine practices.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a pediatric rehabilitation setting will be an asset.
• Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation equipment commonly used in pediatric care.
• Experience in developing personalized treatment plans and a strong ability to engage with families regarding their child’s therapy.

Compensation and Benefits
