Full-Time Physical Therapist – Outpatient Rehabilitation in Mesquite, Texas

Work Environment

The selected candidate will work onsite in our outpatient office, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and nursing staff. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and technologies, such as therapeutic exercise equipment, gait training devices, and modalities for pain management. The work hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical evaluations for each patient to assess mobility factors such as range of motion, strength, balance, gait patterns, and any functional limitations.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, ensuring that specific therapeutic goals are set and addressed through exercise routines and therapeutic modalities, including heat and manual therapy.
• Lead and implement exercise programs that focus on enhancing physical strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance, with an emphasis on effective pain management strategies.
• Guide patients in using assistive devices, such as walkers and canes, while teaching safe walking techniques and fall prevention strategies.
• Support patients in activities of daily living (ADLs) like dressing, bathing, and transferring, facilitating their independence or minimizing assistance required.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on proper exercise techniques, home exercise regimens, and effective fall prevention strategies.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and functional assessments, ensuring compliance with health care regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Flex Sports and Rehab, your focus will be primarily on adults and seniors who may be experiencing conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, stroke effects, post-surgical recovery, and other age-related or acquired disabilities. You will work closely with these patients to help them regain functional independence and improve their daily living skills, fostering a supportive environment that encourages recovery and well-being.

Qualifications

• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Texas.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution (Master's or Doctorate preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• A strong ability to assess and develop patient-specific treatment plans, employing a patient-centered approach.
• A commitment to providing compassionate care and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for the patients served.
• Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist in an outpatient or assisted living setting (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for maintaining patient documentation.
• Background in geriatrics and familiarity with age-related conditions are an asset.

Compensation and Benefits
