Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients recovering from injuries, surgery, or chronic conditions, utilizing standardized assessment tools.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate a variety of therapeutic techniques such as manual therapy, exercise instruction, and modalities like ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
• Implement treatment plans and educate patients on exercises, stretching maneuvers, and self-care methods to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment tasks as necessary to maximize rehabilitation outcomes effectively.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals by communicating patient status and progress, ensuring a cohesive approach to care.
• Instruct patients, their families, and caregivers on the proper use of assistive devices and therapeutic exercises for effective at-home care.
• Engage in regular professional development through workshops, continuing education, and networking opportunities to stay updated with best practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Hemisphere, you will work primarily with adults and seniors suffering from orthopedic conditions, surgical recovery, or sports-related injuries. Your role will be crucial in rebuilding their strength, coordination, and overall function, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Valid state license to practice physical therapy in Washington.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and fellow healthcare team members.
• Understanding of computerized documentation systems and the ability to utilize them in patient care documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an orthopedic setting, preferably with a focus on outpatient rehabilitation.
• Previous experience with evidence-based practice protocols and innovative treatment strategies is preferred, although new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits
