Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations of patients' physical conditions and needs as referred by physicians.
• Create tailored treatment plans that address individual patient goals and enhance recovery outcomes.
• Utilize a range of therapeutic techniques and modalities for rehabilitation, including functional training, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, ensuring that treatment efficacy is evaluated and modified as necessary.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their caregivers regarding treatment protocols, exercises, and rehabilitation strategies.
• Promote optimal patient progress through regular team meetings and by collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure integrated care across disciplines.
• Strive to meet established productivity and documentation standards to help support the center's operational objectives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an orthopedic physical therapist, you will treat a broad spectrum of cases, including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Our patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric, presenting unique challenges and opportunities to implement diverse treatment approaches. You will engage with patients for one-on-one sessions in both clinic and home settings, developing personalized relationships that enhance therapeutic effectiveness.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Valid state license to practice physical therapy in New York.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly in orthopedics.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from an accredited organization.
• Proficiency in documentation software and basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient communication and education.
• A collaborative spirit to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in specialized areas of physical therapy such as sports medicine, manual therapy, and pediatric therapy is highly valued.
• Familiarity with emerging treatment modalities and evidence-based practices in physical therapy.
• Ability to mentor new staff or physical therapy students as the occasion arises.

Compensation and Benefits
