Key Responsibilities

• Develop personalized therapeutic programs aimed at preventing disability and relieving pain, while restoring and maximizing the functional capabilities of clients.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of each patient's functional level using advanced diagnostic tests to determine appropriate care plans.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in the execution of treatment plans, ensuring compliance with state laws and best practices.
• Provide in-depth assessments of home environments to recommend modifications that will enhance patients' independence.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques, instruct patients on therapeutic exercises, and facilitate their participation in non-manual activities.
• Administer various treatments, including traction and massage, to facilitate patient recovery.
• Evaluate and fit patients for prosthetic and orthotic devices, making necessary adjustments in consultation with physicians.
• Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and care plans meticulously to uphold the integrity of patient records.
• Engage as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing to case conferences and comprehensive treatment planning.
• Educate patients and their families on therapy methods, device usage, and overall rehabilitation strategies to empower their recovery process.
• Participate in regular functional assessments and necessary updates to care plans to reflect patients' evolving needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work closely with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, chronic pain, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Understanding the unique backgrounds and challenges faced by each patient is crucial, as we aim to provide tailored and empathetic care that fosters recovery and improves overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Maryland.
• Basic life support (CPR) certification is required.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to think creatively in treatment approaches.
• Committed to high standards of clinical excellence and passionate about patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably in acute care or home care.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient management software is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this full-time position ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
