Work Environment

This position offers an onsite work environment with a focus on home care, where you will visit patients in their own residences. This setting brings a unique dynamic, as you will work closely with patients in their daily environments, tailoring rehabilitation strategies to their specific needs and circumstances. The ability to build rapport and trust in a home setting significantly enhances the therapeutic process, empowering patients to engage actively in their recovery. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured yet flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized physical therapy interventions tailored to each patient’s specific goals, ensuring comprehensive and customized care.
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to remain aligned with evolving recovery needs.
• Utilize advanced orthopedic assessment techniques to evaluate patients' mobility and functional capacity, employing your expertise to guide treatment decisions.
• Implement and supervise therapeutic exercises, modalities, and hands-on techniques aimed at reducing pain and enhancing physical function.
• Encourage and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a supportive environment for recovery.
• Promote non-surgical rehabilitation methods by providing alternative strategies that minimize the need for pain medications.
• Develop and document comprehensive care plans, ensuring thorough records of services provided to support ongoing patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to ensure cohesive patient care strategies.
• Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in physical therapy to continuously enhance the quality of service provided.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Web PT, to manage patient records efficiently, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries. Your role will involve addressing conditions such as post-surgical rehabilitation for joint replacements, fractures, and sports injuries. Ensuring each patient receives personalized care that aligns with their unique circumstances is central to fostering their recovery and improving their functional capabilities.

Qualifications

• A completed Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• An active Physical Therapist license in Virginia, with no history of disciplinary actions.
• Demonstrated mastery in various manual therapy techniques, with a focus on orthopedic conditions.
• Exceptional skill in formulating and implementing exercise programs designed for individual patient success.
• Proficiency in using EMR software effectively for documentation and record-keeping.
• A strong foundation in research-backed physical therapy practices, ensuring up-to-date knowledge in the field.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in home care settings or outpatient orthopedic clinics is highly advantageous.
• Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team enhances patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
