Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work onsite at our hospital facility, comprising a multi-disciplinary team environment focused on comprehensive patient management. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient interviews, take medical histories, and perform targeted physical examinations.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, evolving tentative diagnoses, and establish treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health management, including strategies for wellness promotion and chronic disease prevention.
• Prescribe medications and regulate treatment protocols as per institutional agreements with supervising physicians.
• Document patient interactions meticulously, ensuring that all health assessments and clinical decisions are recorded appropriately.
• Act as a primary liaison among urology service providers, primary care physicians, nurse case managers, and other relevant healthcare professionals.
• Handle triage calls, providing guidance and timely responses to patient inquiries about clinical care, medication refills, and lab results.
• Mentor and consult with nursing staff, residents, and other health professionals to foster a supportive professional environment.
• Oversee scheduling for complex patient treatments, maximizing efficiency and patient satisfaction.
• Lead multidisciplinary research efforts, including design and implementation of clinical trials related to prostate biopsy techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, specialized in the field of healthcare.
• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and possession of current licensure as a Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience preferred, ideally within a surgical or urology setting.
• Current CPR certification and commitment to maintaining requisite licensure during employment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both with patients and among multidisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with additional training in urology, surgical techniques, or experience in clinical research will be highly regarded. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and previous participation in clinical trials will enhance your candidacy.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
