Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, designed to facilitate efficient patient care delivery. You will work within a dynamic and collaborative clinical team that includes physicians, nursing staff, and specialists. Located in the rapidly growing Waldorf area, our facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and technology, enabling you to perform your duties effectively and efficiently. The working schedule is Monday to Friday, consisting of 40 hours per week, starting with a 5:00 PM shift, providing a work-life balance for our employees.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant in our Urgent Care setting, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough patient examinations and meticulously reviewing medical records to understand patient history.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood tests and X-rays, using results to guide treatment decisions.
• Diagnosing and managing a variety of acute illnesses and conditions, ensuring prompt and effective patient care.
• Developing and implementing tailored treatment plans for patients with chronic illnesses, monitoring their progress closely.
• Prescribing medications, including controlled substances when necessary, and evaluating their efficacy with follow-up assessments.
• Maintaining organized and accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
• Educating patients and their families on health management practices, preventive measures, and disease awareness to promote healthier lifestyles.
• Actively participating in ongoing professional development, including engagement in research and training opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will care for a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatric patients to adults encountering acute health issues. Our urgent care center provides a broad spectrum of services, catering to individuals facing non-life-threatening emergencies, minor injuries, and urgent medical conditions. Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree as a minimum requirement; a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is preferred.
• Current Physician Assistant certification (PA-C) and a valid Physician Assistant license in the state of Maryland.
• DEA certification is required to prescribe medications.
• Demonstrated experience as a Physician Assistant in urgent care, emergency room, or clinic settings.
• In-depth knowledge of health regulations, clinical practices, and patient care methodologies.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• A strong ethical framework and commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, showcasing patience and a composed demeanor in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Experience
