Full-Time Physician Assistant - Pain Management Specialist

We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Pain Management to join our team at Body and Spine Locomotion Physical Therapy Clinic in Trenton, New Jersey. This full-time position is designed for a healthcare professional who is passionate about diagnosing, treating, and managing pain conditions while promoting overall health and wellness in an outpatient primary care setting.

Work Environment

In this position, you will work onsite at our hospital-affiliated facility, which boasts state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technologies. The physician assistant will be part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including 5 physicians and 5 nurse practitioners, collaborating to provide excellent patient care. The role requires a commitment to working Monday through Friday, with daily hours of 40 per week, concluding at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patients' medical histories.
• Order, evaluate, and interpret diagnostic tests, including blood work and imaging studies such as X-rays.
• Diagnose a variety of health conditions and illnesses related to pain management.
• Propose and implement treatment plans for both chronic and acute pain conditions.
• Prescribe medications in line with best practices and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
• Educate patients about their health conditions, treatment options, and prescribed medications.
• Promote disease prevention strategies and wellness initiatives among patients and their families.
• Oversee and monitor patients' overall health outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to research and clinical knowledge-sharing efforts.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The role focuses on providing care for a diverse patient population suffering from various pain conditions, including but not limited to orthopedic injuries, chronic pain syndromes, and post-operative pain management. You will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for individuals who rely on your expertise for effective pain relief and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, and a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• A valid New Jersey State Physician Assistant license is required.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) is mandatory.
• Must possess a valid DEA number for prescribing medications.
• Proficient communication skills with the ability to educate and engage effectively with patients and their families.
• A strong ethical foundation with a commitment to patient care and advocacy.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team, exhibiting a positive and supportive demeanor.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinic, hospital, or emergency room setting, particularly with a focus on primary care, acute care, or chronic pain management.
• Understanding of regulations related to healthcare and patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 to 150,000 per year, commensurate with experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
